Daily Summary

A segment of the Congressional Record encapsulating the day's floor and committee activities in each chamber, with page references to the exact transcripts of floor actions. It also enumerates the measures slated for consideration during each chamber’s forthcoming meeting and the notifications of impending committee gatherings. The Summary is located at the end of each daily Record. Its pages are individually numbered and prefixed by the letter D. In the compiled Congressional Record, all Daily Summaries for a session are published in a distinct volume.

7 Amendment Meaning

The Seventh Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees the right to a jury trial in certain civil cases. Specifically it states that in lawsuits at common law where the amount in dispute exceeds twenty dollars, the right to a jury trial must be upheld. Furthermore, it restricts courts from re-examining facts determined by a jury, except as permitted by common law rules.
