Impeachment

The procedure of questioning a witness's credibility. For instance, if the lawyer can demonstrate that the witness might have invented parts of their statement, the witness is considered to be "discredited;" 2. The constitutional procedure through which the House of Representatives may "accuse" (charge with wrongdoing) senior officials of the federal government, who are subsequently judged by the Senate.
