Legislative Action Steps

Each chamber generates comprehensive, chamber-specific legislative action procedures. Each procedure is assigned a numerical code. The U.S. Congress Legislative Status Procedures illustrates the procedures in relation to the codes. This was released in 1975 as part of a committee print titled The Bill Status System for the United States House of Representatives. See also, major action.
