Proposed / Offered Senate Amendment

A modification to a Senate bill or resolution is formally introduced or submitted when a Senator is acknowledged by the chair, submits their modification to the clerk's station (or points out a modification already filed there), and the modification is publicly stated by the official. The modification is formally under consideration by the Senate and continues awaiting action until the Senate resolves it. Sometimes the term "brought forward" is used instead of "formally introduced" or "submitted."
