Short Title

In addition to an official designation, a legislative proposal may be given one or more abbreviated titles upon its introduction, committee or chamber proceedings, or ratification. Abbreviated titles may refer to all or parts of the proposal’s content. In a presentation of titles, those that encompass the whole version of the proposal are listed under a highlighted heading (e.g., Abbreviated Titles as Approved by the House), followed by any that pertain to sections of the proposal. Abbreviated titles may be modified as the proposal progresses through the legislative procedure.
